Aims and objectives of the Association are:

  • To help towards advancement, dissemination and application of the knowledge of Agrometeorology science

  • To encourage and promote research in Agrometeorology and related disciplines.

  • To undertake and execute all acts which shall promote all or any of the aims and objectives of the Association.

  • To promote interaction among all persons, bodies, institutions (private and/or state-owned) and industries interested in achieving advancement, dissemination and application of the technology as stated in para 7 (a) above.

  • To achieve the objectives as laid down above, the association may use the following methods -

  • Dissemination of the knowledge and information in the field of the Agrometeorology and related disciplines by publication of journals, bulletins, newsletters, or any other publications incorporating research and teaching ideas, reviews, new developments and by employing media of the mass communication, radio, televisions etc. and also by arranging programmes for students or establishing student cadres.

  • Arranging seminars, workshops, symposia, lectures, debates, panel discussions, conferences and film shows on current research topics and other topics of National and local interest pertaining to research, training and applied aspects of Agrometeorology and related disciplines.

  • Providing recognition scientists for their outstanding contribution in the field of Agrometeorology by way of awards, medals and other suitable methods.

  • Assisting in organization of chapters of the Association in different parts of the country (India) and in foreign countries.

  • Acquiring properties such as land, office premises, auditoria and hostels for the use of Association.

  • Securing grants, funds and endowments from Governments, autonomous institutions, private sectors and individuals and administering the same for furtherance of the aims and objectives of the Association, and

  • Appointing personnel for smooth functioning of the Association.
