Association of Agrometeorologists (

The Association of Agrometeorologists established in 1999 at Anand, Gujarat, India, has been constantly expanding both in terms of its membership and activities. Presently its Life Members are more than 1300 spread across the globe. Association organizes its activities from its HQ office at Anand Agricultural University, Anand Gujarat with supports from its chapters functioning in different parts of the country. To encourage education and research in Agricultural Meteorology, Association has instituted various awards viz. for Best MSc/Ph.D thesis, Young scientist award, Best papers awards etc which are presented every year to the deserving candidates. Association publishes its journal “Journal of Agrometeorology” regularly since 1999 having Impact Factor of 0.563 and NAAS score of 6.40 for year 2018 which is one of the best among the journals published in agriculture and other related fields in India.

India Meteorological Department  (

India Meteorological Department (IMD), Ministry of Earth Sciences, Govt. of India, is the National Meteorological Service of the country and the Principal Government Agency in all matters relating to meteorology and allied subjectsand provides weather and climate services to the public and specialized sectors since its establishment in 1875. IMD operates through its Headquarter at New Delhi, Climate Research and Services at Pune, 06 Regional Meteorological Centres at Mumbai, Chennai, New Delhi, Kolkata, Nagpur and Guwahati, 19 Meteorological Centres at State Capitals in additions to Meteorological Offices at Airports and in cities, Agromet Advisory Centres, Cyclone Warning Centres, Flood Meteorological Offices, Upper air and Radar Stations in the country.

Indian Agricultural Research Institute (

The Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi commonly known as Pusa Institute is India's premier national institute for agricultural research, education and extension. It attained the status of a Deemed-to-be-University in the year 1958. Currently, the Institute has 20 Divisions, 5 multi-disciplinary Centres situated in Delhi, 8 regional stations, 2 off-season nurseries, 3 All India coordinated research projects with headquarters at IARI and 10 national Centres. So far IARI has awarded 4025 M.Sc., 47 M.Tech. and 4791 Ph.D degrees to the students which includes 379 international students.

Jawaharlal Nehru University (

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) was established in 1969 by an act of parliament. It is considered as a prime research-oriented post graduate University with a total strength of approximately 5,500 students and over 500 faculty members.It has 10 Schools with each of them further housing several Centres and four independent Special Centres.It also offers academic collaboration for exchange programmes through the signing of the Memorandum of understanding or ‘MoUs’ with 71 International Universities worldwide.
